text // 'five hundred thousand years of movement'

There’s a first for everything, right?

The first big bang.

The first shape.

The first galaxy.

The first movement.

The first outside with an inside in it.

The first species.

The first drastic climate change.

The first performance ever.

The first big failure.

The first touch.

The first profound emotion.

The first spoken word.

The first time we started counting.

The first year.

The first virgin to give birth.

The first time we said something we’d later regret.

The first spilled coffee.

The first time we thought we were right.

And the first time we realized we were wrong.

The first time someone decided they were better than someone else.

The first time we lost hope.

The first haircut that made us cry.

The first time we got bored to death.

The first lie we told.

The first time we thought it was the last time.

Or the first time we look at someone for way too long in an awkward silence and we keep looking cause there’s something there.

And when everything had been experienced. And everything had been done and said, there’s always a next time.

The next shape.

The next movement.

The next species.

The next love of our lifes.

The next generation.

The next nuclear war.

The next body.

The body next to us.

The next time we hug our mothers.

The next dancer who gets naked on stage.

The next emotional speech.

The next time we can’t forgive even if we really want to.

The next stranger we’ll be kind to for no reason.

The next time we go to bed angry.

The next time we run out of garlic on a sunday night, but we really wanna make this pasta dish, so we go up to our neighbors and we realize that their flat is so much more beautiful than ours

The next perfect day.

The next episode.

The next 10 years.

The next moon landing.

and when everything had been experienced and done and said over and over again,

eventually, there’ll be a last time.

The last shape.

The last movement.

The last species.

The last time we’ll feel alive like never before.

The last time we’ll kiss like the first time.

The last bad news.

The last person who dies for no fucking reason.

The last child that is born.

The last phonecall we make.

The last time we’ll be here together.

The last time i do this. And you do that.

The last reason to change.

The last day we’ll remember.

The last horizon we see.

The last crappy song on the radio.

The last white rhino.

The last piece of cake no one dares to eat.

The last body.

The last jedi.

The last touch.

The last deja vu.

The last discovery.

The last time we quit smoking.

The last never ending story.

The last time we thought it was the first time.

The last epic beginning.
